Wyoming Notes

NR elk tag ~$692 (Type 1 general). 75% of tags go to highest-point applicants, 25% random — so even new applicants have a small chance. Complex Type 1/2/9 license structure. Preference points build annually. Some general areas have decent odds at 5-8 pts. Apply Jan 1–May 31 at wgfd.wyo.gov.

Colorado Notes

NR archery OTC eliminated west of I-25 as of 2025 — now draw-only for most of Colorado. Very limited OTC archery remains in a few eastern GMUs (east of I-25). Habitat stamp ($10) required. Verify current unit status at cpw.state.co.us.
